Woodstock - Robbery - Aug. 22, 2017

Crime Stoppers of Oxford County and the Woodstock Police Service are seeking the public’s assistance in solving a robbery in the City of Woodstock.

On Monday, August 14, 2017, at approximately 10:00 p.m., a group of young people were at the Woodstock Public Library when they were approached by a male unknown to them.

After a brief conversation the suspect invited two of the young people to the west side of the library building where he produced what appeared to be a gun and demanded property from one of the young people.  A struggle ensued and the suspect made off with the young person’s cell phone.  The suspect was last observed running southbound.

The suspect is described as approximately 6’ to 6’ 2” with a thin build, wearing a dark grey sweater, black pants, a knitted toque and running shoes.

Tillsonburg - Break & Enter - Aug. 22, 2017

The Oxford County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with Oxford Crime Stoppers is seeking the public’s assistance in helping to identity the person(s) responsible for a break and enter to a residence on North Street within the Town of Tillsonburg.

Sometime between Saturday 05th of August 2017 at 1pm and Sunday the 06th of August 2017 at 10am unknown person(s) gained entry through a rear patio door. Once inside the culprits stole assorted jewelry, electronics, alcohol and other personal items. The approximate value of the goods taken is $2500.

This incident remains under investigation.
Woodstock - Break & Enter - Aug. 22, 2017

Crime Stoppers of Oxford County and the Woodstock Police Service are seeking the public’s assistance in solving a break and enter in the city of Woodstock.

On August 17th, 2017 at approximately 4 a.m. unknown suspect(s) entered a local business located at 1147 Dundas Street in the city of Woodstock. The lock on the entrance fence was cut and a quantity of various frozen meats and two scales were taken.  The estimated value of these items is $1500.

Norwich - Break & Enter - Aug. 8, 2017

The Oxford County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with Oxford Crime Stoppers is seeking the public’s assistance in helping to identity the person(s) responsible for several break and enters to residences within Norwich Township.

There have been ten break and enters reported to OPP between Saturday July 1, 2017 and Wednesday July 26, 2017. The incidents are occurring primarily overnight however a few have occurred during the daytime when residents were not home. Most of the areas were targets were homes in Norwich and rural properties including outdoor storage buildings.

The locations of the break and enters include, Potters Road, Gunn's Hill Road, West Street (Norwich), Otterville Road, North Court Street West (Norwich) and Washington Street (Norwich).

Some of the items stolen included:
  • Laptops
  • Tablets
  • IPod
  • Various jewelry
  • Various hand tools
  • Portable speakers
  • Champion Generator
  • Cell phones
  • Beats headphones
  • Canadian currency
  • Target shooting arrow
  • 2011 Kawasaki KF8 -All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) - black and green in colour.
  • Bicycles
  • Johnson 3 HP boat motor
  • Jiffy gas powered ice auger
  • Milwaukee chop saw
These incidents remain under investigation.
East Zorra-Tavistock Twp - Break & Enter - July 31, 2017

The Oxford County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Oxford Crime Stoppers is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the culprit(s) that were involved in a break and enter on 10the Line in East Zorra-Tavistock Township on Friday, July 14, 2017. The residence is located just south of the 17th Line.

The break and enter occurred between approximately 5:00 p.m. on Thursday July 13, 2017 and 7:30 a.m. on Friday July 14, 2018.

The suspect(s) gained entry into a barn on the rural property which housed pigs. Various tools were taken which included:
  • Dewalt cordless hammer drill
  • Dewalt cordless impact driver
  • Red Sawzall jigsaw
  • A box containing Forstner drill bits
  • 70 foot Goodyear pressure washer with wand and nozzle attached
  • Other small hand tools
The value of the items taken is approximately $850.
Zorra Twp - Break & Enter - July 25, 2017

The Oxford County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with Oxford Crime Stoppers is seeking the public’s assisting in solving a break and enter on 19the Line in Zorra Township  that occurred on Monday, June 12, 2017. The residence is located along the 19th Line between Ingersoll and Thamesford.

The break and enter occurred between approximately 11:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. while the homeowners were away.

The suspect(s) forced entry into the home by forcing open a patio door. Several rooms in the home were ransacked and approximately $7,500 worth of items was taken. Items included a $1,000 bill (Canadian currency), Samsung LED 40 inch TV, IPad, IPhone 4, various jewelry, passports, car keys, Toronto Blue Jays tickets, and various liquor.

Witnesses were canvassed and reported seeing a small black car at the residence with a loud exhaust at the time of the break and enter.

Woodstock - Sexual Assault - July 25, 2017

Crime Stoppers of Oxford County and the Woodstock Police Service are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying an unknown male involved in a sexual assault in the City of Woodstock.

On the evening of Friday the 14th of July 2017 a sexual assault occurred in the area of Wilson St at Hounsfield St.  Police are seeking information on the offender described as:

A male in his 20’s with dark skin.  The male is approximately 6’2-6’3 with a heavy build.  The male had “corn-row” style hair, with unshaven facial hair and a tattoo on the left side of his neck.  At the time of the offence the male was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with the hood half up, and grey jogging pants.

Zorra Twp - Construction Site Theft - July 18, 2017

Oxford County OPP along with Oxford Crime Stoppers are seeking the public’s assistance in locating the suspect(s) who stole several tools and supplies from a large Sea Container.  This container was situated at the construction site located on the 41st Line just south of Road 78 in the Township of Zorra.

This theft occurred sometime overnight of Wednesday the 21st of June 2017 and Thursday morning, the 22nd of June 2017.

Unknown person(s) used bolt cutters to remove several padlocks and once inside stole several hand tools, Bosch Hammer Drill, Ryobi  Grinders, 2 brand new Rigid Shop Vacuums and several other items.

Investigation is continuing.
Woodstock - Cemetery Vandalism - July 18, 2017

Crime Stoppers of Oxford County and the Woodstock Police Service, are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying those responsible for damage at a local cemetery in the City of Woodstock.

The Woodstock Police are investigating damage that was caused to three grave markers at the Presbyterian Cemetery located at the north end of the City of Woodstock. 

Information received is that, sometime during the past 6 weeks, three markers in the ground were damaged by an unknown suspect. Damages are estimated at approximately $5000.00.
Woodstock - Arson - July 11, 2017

On Thursday June 29th, 2017 at 2:05 a.m. Fire was dispatched to the Dundas Street McDonalds Restaurant to extinguish a fire behind the business in a wooded area.  There was no damage as a result of this fire. 

At 2:54 a.m. Fire was again dispatched to the rear of Sobey’s located at 379 Springbank Avenue.  A garbage dumpster had been ignited.  Damage was $750.  

The third call was at approximately 3:10 a.m. when police were dispatched to a garbage bin fire located at 368 Springbank Avenue in Woodstock. Damage to this bin was $200.
