Arson - Woodstock - Sept. 13, 2019

Crime Stoppers of Oxford County and the Woodstock Police Service, are seeking the public’s assistance in solving a case of Arson in the city of Woodstock.

On Tuesday September 3rd, 2019 at 5:41 a.m. Woodstock Fire was dispatched to the North side of 97 Chapel Street, Woodstock regarding the odour of smoke and sound of running water as well as an activated fire alarm.  Woodstock Fire then entered the building and completely extinguished the fire.  This fire has been deemed suspicious and total damages were minimal.

Suspicious Persons - Woodstock - Sept. 13, 2019

On Tuesday, September 3, 2019, the Woodstock Police Service responded to a report of a suspicious person in the area of Adelaide Street in the City of Woodstock.

Investigation revealed that two females, age 14 and 15 years, were walking on Adelaide Street when they were approached by an unknown male driver of a white pickup truck.  The driver slowed and yelled out to the girls, asking if they needed a ride.  The pickup truck kept going and the females continued back to the area of Woodstock Collegiate Institute.  

The male driver is described as being 28 years or older driving a white truck.  

With school back in session, the Woodstock Police Service would like to remind students and all those pedestrians, that if you are approached by an unknown vehicle while walking, to not stop and not to engage.  Parents are encouraged to go over safety tips with their children with regards to road safety and stranger safety.
Norwich - Theft - July 23, 2019

The Oxford County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with Oxford Crime Stoppers is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the person(s) responsible for a Theft in Norwich, Ont.
 
The Ontario Provincial Police Oxford Detachment responded to a report of a theft of a tractor and trailer from a business lot situated at 594740 Highway 59 in the Town of Norwich, Oxford County.
 
The theft occurred at approximately between 3:52 a.m.  and 4:16 a.m. on Sunday July 21, 2019.  
 
Unknown suspect(s) gained entry to the property by jumping the fence at the south of the property.  Seals were cut off the trailer and the GPS tracking device removed from the unit. Over 1000 pairs of Blundstone safety footwear were in the trailer.  The trailer is described as a 2019 white enclosed utility trailer with Country Transport decals on the exterior.    
 
Police are hoping that anyone that may have seen anyone suspicious in the area during that time frame to call police to report it.
 
The investigation is continuing. 
Tillsonburg - Break & Enter - July 17, 2019

The Oxford County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with Oxford Crime Stoppers is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the person(s) responsible for a Break, Enter &Theft in Tillsonburg, Ont.

The Ontario Provincial Police Oxford Detachment responded to a report of a break, enter & theft from a warehouse on Clearview Drive in the Town of Tillsonburg.

The theft occurred just after midnight on Monday July 15th, 2019.  

Unknown suspect(s) gained entry to the property by prying the door open and access to a large garage was made where several antique classic cars and other vehicles were stored. Four (4) of the cars were stolen including a 1977 brown Chevrolet Camaro, a 1972 teal and white Ford Ranger, a 1985 blue and white Chevrolet K-10 pick up, and a 2018 brown Porsche Panamera.    
Police are hoping that anyone that may have seen anyone suspicious in the area during that time frame to call police to report it.

The investigation is continuing. 
Woodstock - Robbery - July 2, 2019

Crime Stoppers of Oxford County and the Oxford OPP are seeking the public’s assistance in solving a robbery outside the City of Woodstock.

On Friday, June 28th, 2019, at approximately 3:30 a.m., Ontario Provincial Police received a report that a robbery had just occurred at the Eastbound On Route located on the 401 Highway.  When police arrived a transport truck driver reported being attacked by two males who then tied the driver up and attempted to drive away with his truck filled with auto parts. They were unsuccessful and ran off.
 
The suspects are described as two black males wearing dark clothing.

Woodstock - Theft - June 5, 2019

Crime Stoppers of Oxford County and the Woodstock Police Service, are seeking the public’s assistance in solving a theft in the city of Woodstock.
 
The Woodstock Police Service is currently investigating a theft of a 2015 KTM model 390 motorcycle, bearing Ontario licence plate 3K3E5.  The stolen motorcycle has an orange frame/rims/brakes and clutch lever, black fairings and seat with a white and black sticker attached to the rear right corner that reads “Loud Pipes Save Lives”.  The motorcycle was stolen from an address on Cromwell St., in Woodstock sometime in the overnight hours of May 31st into June1st.

Woodstock - Robbery - May 29, 2019

Crime Stoppers of Oxford County and the Woodstock Police Service are seeking the public’s assistance in solving a robbery in the City of Woodstock.

On Thursday, May 23th, 2019, at approximately 5:00 a.m., Woodstock Police Service received a report that a robbery had just occurred at the ESSO Gas Station located at the intersection of Norwich Avenue and Parkinson Road in Woodstock.
Members of Uniform Patrol and the K-9 Unit attended the area and were unable to locate the suspect.
The suspect is described as a male 6’, thin build, wearing a mask, gloves, baggy sweater with white lettering on the front described as the letters “CH”, dark pants and black shoes with red soles.

Woodstock - Break & Enter - May 21, 2019

Crime Stoppers of Oxford County and the Woodstock Police Service are seeking the public’s assistance in solving a break and enter in the city of Woodstock.
Investigation revealed that sometime overnight on May 6th, 2019, a construction trailer was entered by unknown suspects located at a business on Montclair Drive in the City of Woodstock.  The theft is valued at approximately $14,000.  
 
Also on May 11th, 2019 at approximately 01:30 a.m., suspects attended at a business located on Devonshire Avenue in Woodstock and made entry through a rear window.  A sum of money was stolen.

Woodstock - Theft - May 21, 2019

Crime Stoppers of Oxford County and the Woodstock Police Service, are seeking the public’s assistance in solving a theft in the city of Woodstock.
Sometime between April 27th and April 29th  2019, a 2015 48 foot Mac aluminum drop deck trailer loaded with 2 Caterpillar heavy excavators was stolen from the 230 Truck Stop in Woodstock.
The trailer and excavators were subsequently located and recovered in the Burlington area.

Woodstock - Theft - May 21, 2019

Crime Stoppers of Oxford County and the Woodstock Police Service, are seeking the public’s assistance in solving a theft in the city of Woodstock.
Between May 12, 2019 and May 13, 2019, a vehicle was entered and approximately $5000.00 worth of camping and “larping” equipment was stolen while the vehicle was parked at a Perry Street residence.  The vehicle was locked at the time of the theft.  
 
Also on May 12, 2019, a vehicle parked on Oxford Street was ransacked and a bag of clothes were stolen.  Suspects also caused minor damage by pulling out various wires on the vehicle
